Richard J. Bonnie, the Harrison Foundation Professor of Law and Medicine, Professor of Public Policy, Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences, and Director of the Institute of Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.

This year (July 2017) Bonnie chaired a study for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine which gave extensive recommendations (in a 500 plus page report) for curbing the opioid problem, which we focused on in this episode. Bonnie has worked to affect public policies relating to mental health, substance abuse, and juvenile justice reform. His impressive full biography can be found below.

Ryan Wright is an associate professor in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. His research interests include cybersecurity, privacy, and digital entrepreneurship.
