Eduardo Montes-Bradley and Susan Elliott  

We welcomed Susan Elliott Charlottesville’s Climate Protection Program Manager for the Division of Environmental Sustainability. She focuses on community initiatives working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy efficiency. Susan has a Masters in Urban and Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Wellesley College.

We spoke with award-winning and prolific filmmaker Eduardo Montes-Bradley who’s made documentaries, exposés, and biographical sketches on an immense range of topics. With his films, he’s embraced the lives of activists, artists and holocaust survivors—from Eva Perón and Julian Bond to Rita Dove and John Borden Evans and scores more. With his films, he paints rich, in-depth tableaux, whether capturing the story of slavery at the University of Virginia or exploring the Samba in Afro-Brazilian culture. His films have won awards at festivals around the world including the most recent from the Port Orchard Film Festival, near Seattle, WA His film  “A Soldier’s Dream: The Milt Feldman Story”won Best Feature Documentary.
